Flooding rains possible – Flash Flood Watch issued

...HEAVY RAINS EXPECTED ACROSS SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS THROUGH
SATURDAY EVENING...

.AN UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE OVER SOUTHEAST ARIZONA MOVING EAST
WILL ENTRAIN SUB-TROPICAL PACIFIC MOISTURE FROM TROPICAL STORM
NORMAN AND THE REMNANTS OF MIRIAM. THIS WILL ALLOW MOISTURE AND
INSTABILITY TO OVERSPREAD SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS TONIGHT THROUGH
SATURDAY.

THIS WILL RESULT IN A WIDESPREAD HEAVY RAIN EVENT
ACROSS SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS THROUGH SATURDAY EVENING. HEAVY RAINS
WILL INITIALLY DEVELOP OVER THE EDWARDS PLATEAU AND RIO GRANDE
PLAINS AND SPREAD SLOWLY EASTWARD ACROSS THE HILL COUNTRY AND THE
I-35 CORRIDOR. SEVERAL ROUNDS OF HEAVY DOWNPOURS ARE EXPECTED TO
OCCUR BEFORE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS END FROM WEST TO EAST
SATURDAY NIGHT. STORM TOTALS ARE EXPECTED TO AVERAGE 2 TO
4 INCHES...WITH ISOLATED HIGHER AMOUNTS OF 6 TO 8 INCHES
POSSIBLE. THE HEAVY RAINFALL WILL NOT ONLY PRODUCE A SIGNIFICANT
THREAT FOR FLASH FLOODING BUT ALSO A POTENTIAL FOR LOCALIZED
FLOODING ALONG LARGER STREAMS AND RIVERS.

...FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH SATURDAY EVENING...

THE FLASH FLOOD WATCH CONTINUES FOR

* THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES IN SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS...BANDERA...
  BLANCO...BURNET...DIMMIT...EDWARDS...FRIO...GILLESPIE...
  KENDALL...KERR...KINNEY...LLANO...MAVERICK...MEDINA...REAL...
  UVALDE...VAL VERDE AND ZAVALA.

* THROUGH SATURDAY EVENING

* WIDESPREAD HEAVY RAINS WILL OCCUR TONIGHT THROUGH LATE
  SATURDAY. RAINFALL TOTALS AVERAGING 2 TO 4 INCHES...WITH
  ISOLATED AMOUNTS OF 6 TO 8 INCHES.

* RAPID RUNOFF FROM THESE HEAVY RAINS COULD RESULT IN THE FLASH
  FLOODING OF CREEKS AND STREAMS...LOW WATER CROSSINGS...AND
  URBAN AREAS...AS WELL A THREAT TO LIFE AND PROPERTY. LARGER
  CREEKS AND STREAMS MAY EVENTUALLY BE IMPACTED...RESULTING IN
  ROADWAYS BECOMING IMPASSABLE FOR SEVERAL HOURS.

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS FLASH FLOODING IS POSSIBLE IN OR NEAR
THE WATCH AREA. IF YOU ARE IN THE WATCH AREA...PLAN NOW FOR WHAT
YOU WILL DO IF FLASH FLOODING DEVELOPS. STAY INFORMED AND BE
READY TO ACT IF YOU SEE FLOODING OR IF A FLASH FLOOD WARNING IS
ISSUED.
