Holiday Happenings Is Back!
Back for another edition of December excitement….. its your Holiday Happenings!! Here is a list of a few things you and the family can do to carry on the holiday spirit!
1. Armadillo Christmas Bazaar
Now through Christmas Eve @Palmer Events Center, Austin, TX. 11:00am – 11:00pm
Live music and art have made the original Armadillo Christmas Bazaar an iconic Austin event. Art fair and music festival rolled into one, it has long been the city’s favorite scene for holiday shopping, Austin style. With imaginative, handmade gifts and fine art that range from sophisticated to funky, the 2012 show will feature new talent and local legends.
2. Celtic Christmas At The Cathedral
St. Mary’s Cathedral make it a night of enchanted wonder matched only by the humble offerings of the Irish and Scottish traditional music played by noted artists of the Celtic Cultural Center forming a celebration fit for angels and shepherds alike.
We put together the greatest and most ridiculous holiday hits so you can sing falsetto with the Peanuts gang, jam to Wham’s “Last Christmas” and dance along with Justin Bieber. We’ll have trivia, videoke, a host of new videos along with favorites from last year, and so, so much more. Don’t be left out of our reindeer games this year; get your tickets early, and come down to the greatest holiday party of the year.
Whether you’re Christian, Jewish, Muslim, or Atheist, the XMAS POPS SING-ALONG will have you holding your neighbor’s hands, singing in unison, and celebrating Festivus with the rest of us.
4. Christmas Kids Event To Benefit Blue Santa
Come see Santa at The Oasis! Whether you’ve been naughty or nice, Santa is checking his list not once, but twice! Bring your cameras to capture the perfect shot with Santa on Saturday, December 15th, and Sunday, December 16th, from 3-7pm.
Help Sock Homelessness this Holiday season by donating new, unused socks and blankets. The Oasis on Lake Travis has teamed up with Loaves & Fishes Miracles on Wheels and will be accepting donations Saturday, December 15th, and Sunday, December 16th.
The Trail Of Lights Returns!! - This is one we obviously can not forget! The light show will run nightly from Sunday December 16th through December 23rd in Zilker Park. This year’s trail will feature nearly 1 million lights and admission is free!!!
