A day to volunteer
If you’re looking for a service project to participate in on MLK Day, here are some suggestions from Keep Austin Beautiful.
Celebrate MLK Day in Service
Each year, Americans across the country come together on MLK Day to serve their neighbors and communities. Make this MLK Day a day of service by giving back to your community and protecting the environment. This year, Keep Austin Beautiful has volunteer opportunities for you to make a difference on this important day of service.
January 19th – join us at the 14th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. Clean Up in partnership with State Representative Dawnna Dukes and United Way for Greater Austin.
January 21st – join Austin Youth River Watch, KAB, and the City of Austin Watershed Protection Department at the Colorado River Wildlife Sanctuary/Montopolis Bridge to clean up the area, test water quality and learn about the ecological importance of aquatic bugs and how they are used as water quality indicators.
January 21st – team up with American Youthwork’s Texas Conservation Corps and Casa Verde Builders to clean a large dump site at Williamson Creek.
