My Visit to Patsy Sommer Elementary School

February 8th, 2013 at 3:58 pm by under Weather

I’d like to thank the faculty and students at Patsy Sommer Elementary school for their terrific hospitality during my visit there today. I had a great time talking weather with the 4th and 5th graders, who were outstanding! There wasn’t a question I asked that one or more of the students didn’t have the answer to. Keep up the good work!

Hey Jim spencer I’m katelyn I was at pasty sommer elementary in mr. Hernandez’s 5th grade class ! I had lots of fun when you came ! I was wondering when you said the roof collapsed on that store why didn’t anyone in the freezers get hurt ? Anyway I hope you can come again ! And thanks for putting us on the news I watched

      Hi Katelyn,

The reason the roof collapse at the Albertson’s store didn’t hurt people in the freezers is because they are made of re-inforced steel, and they protected people inside. Plus, the main part of the roof collapse was in the middle of the store, and the freezers were in the rear portion.

Thanks again to you and your classmates for having me out today!
