A cold Wednesday morning!

Low temperatures Wednesday morning from the KXAN First Warning Weather Center

Outside of the urban heat island effect in the Austin metro, Wednesday morning started on a very cold note for many around the area.

The coldest reading on the map was a 20 degree low temperature in Fredricksburg this morning, but some low-lying creek bottoms made it all the way down into the teens!

Here are some of the colder temperatures recorded on the LCRA Hydromet weather station network Wednesday morning…

17 degrees – Sandy Creek near Willow City (Llano Co.)

18 degrees – Cherokee Creek near Bend (San Saba Co.)

18 degrees – 8 mi NE of Harper (Gillespie Co.)

19 degrees – Willow Creek near Mason (Mason Co.)

21 degrees – 5 mi WNW of Spicewood (Burnet Co.)

21 degrees – Pedernales River near Fredricksburg (Gillespie Co.)

23 degrees – Barton Creek near Oak Hill (Travis Co.)

29 degrees – 2 mi SW of Jollyville (Travis Co.)

30 degrees – Barton Creek @ Loop 360 (Travis Co.)
