Severe storms possible by early WednesdayApril 8th, 2013 at 9:59 pm by Jim Spencer under Weather
A vigorous upper level disturbance is expected to move across Texas late Tuesday into Wednesday night. This storm system could generate a few strong to severe thunderstorms over parts of South Central Texas by early Tuesday evening, with rain chances increasing over the Northern Hill Country late Tuesday Night. There is a slight risk of severe thunderstorms along and north of a line from Rocksprings to Sabinal to New Braunfels to Taylor line, with the primary threats being large hail and damaging winds. Rain chances will be generally higher over areas north of I-10, with rainfall amounts averaging between 1/4 to 1/2 inch with isolated totals around 1 inch. South of I-10, significant rains will become more isolated, with most areas expected to receive less than 1/10 inch. Storm activity should decrease in the early morning hours Wednesday, but could increase again over areas east of I-35, as the front moves into the area by midday.
