Readings from the LCRA Hydromet network were as cold as 29 degrees on creek bottoms in San Saba and Mason counties.

Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (ABIA) had its coldest April 19 since 1953 – tying their record low this morning of 41 degrees.

As high pressure settles over the area tonight, clear skies and calm winds will allow for the mercury to drop to even lower readings Saturday morning.

The KXAN First Warning Weather Center is calling for a low at Camp Mabry Saturday morning of 41 degrees. Low-lying valleys in the Hill Country, metro area, and eastern counties could potentially drop to – or just below – freezing for a brief period of time.

We encourage you to take steps to protect sensitive vegetation Friday night, and be sure to bring your pets indoors.

Have a great weekend!
