Lake Travis’ level hits 3rd lowestJuly 5th, 2013 at 8:19 pm by Natalie Stoll under Weather
At 625.95 feet above mean sea level Friday evening, Lake Travis has hit it’s third lowest elevation in its history. It sits 42 feet below it’s typical July elevation.
One of the ‘Sometimes Islands’ is more of a peninsula now. It’s something you can check out from our weathernet site at The Oasis. The low lake levels are having an impact on the business there according to KXAN’s Ignacio Garcia.
The lake has dropped lower than its elevation in November of 2011. The lowest level occurred during the drought of record in the 1950s.
