Dog adoption events this weekendJuly 26th, 2013 at 3:49 pm by Jim Spencer under Weather
Our mascot Kaxan wants everyone to know now is the time to adopt some of his former running buddies–and in some cases, for free! Below are details about several events going on this weekend.
The Austin Animal Center is running a “Dog Days of Summer” free adoption special on all dogs 6 months and older from July 26 through Aug. 5.
The special is good at the Animal Center, 7201 Levander Loop, and the City’s overflow kennels at Town Lake Animal Center, 1156 W. Cesar Chavez St. Both locations are open from 11 a.m.to 7 p.m. daily.
All dogs adopted will include spay or neuter surgery, a microchip and vaccinations – a package valued at more than $200.
Kaxan was also touched by a story we reported on early this week when The Austin Humane Society rescued 30 dogs… many of them puppies.
This weekend, most of those dogs will be available for adoption from the Shelter…
If you’re interested They’ll open the doors tomorrow at Noon at the Austin Humane Society at 124 West Anderson Lane.
Finally, Kaxan wants you to know about a big event going on in Austin tomorrow to support the Bastrop Animal Rescue Center:
Bastrop Animal Rescue, Inc. has teamed up with the Bastrop County Animal Shelter to host a lifesaving off-site adoption event. This mega adoption day will be held on Saturday, July 27th, where over twenty-five adorable kittens, dogs and cats will be strutting their stuff for the public in hopes of finding their forever homes!
Come mingle with our mutts, get frisky with our cats, and be a part of this fun and exciting event as we embark on our mission to save every healthy and treatable pet at the county shelter. The animals will love and enjoy your attention!
When: Saturday, July 27th, 2013 12:00 P.M. – 5:00 P.M.
Where: Tomlinson’s Pet Store 4211 S Lamar Blvd, Austin, TX
