McCain’s Surprise Pick

August 29th, 2008 - 11:01 am by Jenny Hoff · 2 Comments

Someone certainly capitalized on all the the disenfranchised dems who wanted to see a woman be on a presidential ticket. John McCain has tapped Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin to be his running mate in November.  44 year old Palin, mother of 5, was mayor of a small town in Alaska just two years ago.

This is certainly a risk for McCain since she is a virtual unknown on the national stage, but she definitely encompasses the image of the average, middle class citizen who has made her way through all the ranks in the political arena. She started out in the PTA, then city council, then mayor, Lt. Gov and now Governor.

This pick isn’t or shouldn’t be a surprise. This is an all out effort of the GOP ( Gas and Oil Party) to make deals with the power elite to get their rigs into Alaska. They can’t get it done thru proper channels. Now it’s time for the backroom deals. From the “Office of the Vice President” what Chaney did for Haliberton, Sarah Palin will do for it Big Oil. The Bush regime will continue if they get elected.

This just shows how desperate John McCain really is to win this election, politics as usual. It also shows what a pervert he is.

It shows poor judgement on his behalf, and that the man may be suffering from a the beginning stages of dementia.

As a woman, I am appalled that they would pick a beauty queen, that lacks the education and/or skill to be commander and chief (governor of Alaska…really). It’s like telling a person with an associates degree, they can now be a Supreme Court Judge, even though they have not received the formal education or experience required to be in that position. This is beyond ridiculous…it seems like this election season is a joke to the Republican’s.

There predjudice they display against ordinary people, different races, cultures and gender is sickening. You can tell there are not in this for “We the People” but for their own interest…

Once again they have proven to the American people why they cannot be trusted in running our country. Sarah Palin, comes nowhere close to Hillary Clinton, it’s like apples and oranges. Hillary went to Law school did community service, organized, understands the struggles of ordinary people and has fought hard for the American people. Sarah Palin was a beauty queen, who likes to shoot guns and is a flunky for the good ole boy network. It kind of makes you wander who she slept with to become the governor of a small town in Alaska.

I get a very bad feeling about this woman, and how she will set back women’s rights, like the current administration has set back civil rights. It’s time to ask the very hard questions. What has she done to help eliminate poverty? How many jobs has she created? Has she ever had to deal with minority issues? What is her take on civil rights? What is she going to do to fix the economy, in the event John McCain dies and she becomes Commander and Chief? What is she going to do to help the middle-class? How does she feel about George Bushes tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans only? What will she do to change it if anything? Is she for “We the People” or for her party and own self interest? How partisan is she? Also, if she is Pro-Life and Roe v. Wade is overturned, what is she going to do to solve the crisis of back alley abortions and millions of unwanted children being brought into the world? Who will take care of those unwanted children? What are her intentions? Who is she, and what makes her qualified to be Commander and Chief of this wonderful country, in the event John McCain can not complete his term?

I think it’s another Republican trick, that if John McCain were not able to complete his term, it would allow Bush, Cheney and Rove another opportunity to run this country into the ground some more. They would push her aside like she is nothing? What about her children, not everyone can afford a nanny, and she has a new born baby with down-syndrome, who is going to be left responsible for raising her children, because she will be to busy to do it herself? (Mmm) What does that say about her judgement as a mother and wife?

It’s a scary situation, if people elect the McCain and Palin ticket, America should and can expect another four years of terrible leadership.
