Just finished another Session ‘09 Austin News In Depth Show. It went well on camera, but you should have seen the behind the scenes action! Our robotic cameras suddenly got minds of their own and I discovered I actually need 4 hands in order to set everything up in the 2 minutes I have during breaks. Other thanĀ that, we had an interview with Sen. Cornyn on the stimulus package in Washington, a live interview with the Attorney General on bills he wants to pass through this session and a great roundtable discussion with Hans Klingler, Jason Embry and Jason Stanford. A lot of fiery moments at the table.

I came here to complain about the lack of tight shots and graphics identifying the guests during the roundtable. Then I read that you have to set up the cameras by yourself during the break. EEK!
Is this typical LIN Corp. doing it on the cheap and not caring about investing in putting on a good quality, visually-engaging broadcast for the viewers?
It’s a good show content-wise, but having a single four person wide shot for most of this part of the broadcast really reeks of small- market production values and isn’t fair to viewers. Invest in a studio crew or SOMETHING! We deserve better, and so does the hard-working show host. Every market I’ve lived in, the LIN station always is the one with the highest profit margin and the lowest commitment to quality.
