Its the last day for House members to get their bills passed in the Lower Chamber on 2nd reading. That means we’ll all be here until midnight and there are a lot of gloomy faces on the House floor. Even bills that have been on the calendar for a week might end up dying. I spoke with Rep. Mark Strama who is not happy that his “bully bill” is going to die because the House has been tied up in debating other bills (that are a little bigger…).
This also means the race is on to find bills to attach these stragglers to as amendments.
