Last Day for House Bills Survival

May 14th, 2009 - 12:54 pm by Jenny Hoff · No Comments

Its the last day for House members to get their bills passed in the Lower Chamber on 2nd reading. That means we’ll all be here until midnight and there are a lot of gloomy faces on the House floor. Even bills that have been on the calendar for a week might end up dying. I spoke with Rep. Mark Strama who is not happy that his “bully bill” is going to die because the House has been tied up in debating other bills (that are a little bigger…).

This also means the race is on to find bills to attach these stragglers to as amendments.
