A blog is often a place where journalists and reporters (and the like) can brag on another reporter’s work. I again turn to the Dallas Morning News for the hilarity of Aggie, now Cowboys TE Martellus Bennett’s Cowboys Insider Blog.
Recently I talked to Martellus about his twitter page: www.twitter.com/martyBTV and I’ll post that soon. His advertisement? “If you don’t follow my page, you’re lost,” Bennett said. That got me thinking the man has a gift for the sports gab.
I’m not the only one: the News got to him and decided to publish it online: http://cowboysinsiderblog.dallasnews.com/
Bennett discusses the prominent social issues of our time, like,
1. What do you do when your girlfriend passes gas?
2. Rules of a scary movie so as to avoid getting killed
3. His latest celebrity crushes… and perhaps my personal favorite…
4. His theory that “aliens” or something like them, exist in the NFL. I think it’s code but I may have to re-read the blog.
Bennett provides us with something we don’t get to see often: really funny stuff. Let’s face it, sports is a way of goofing off sometimes and this is just another way to enjoy yourself and excuse it on the pursuit of athletics.
Keep in mind, Bennett is 21 years old, and is still full of the college humor. But it’s humor, and pretty refreshing as a whole, so I enjoy his contribution.

The Austin Toros won a wild NBA D-League playoff game Wednesday night at Concordia University’s new Fieldhouse over Idaho 119-116 in overtime. The Toros trailed by 16 points with two minutes to go in the 3rd quarter before storming back. The Toros will now face top seed Colorado in a one game semifinal.
