<p>As Gov. Rick Perry continues to ponder a presidential run, many Texans have often wondered whether those numerous out-of-state trip he&#8217;s made since re-election have actually been for state business or future political aspirations. Here&#8217;s one thing we know: the state didn&#8217;t pay for most of those trips. As business separate or at least partially separate from his governor-related duties, Perry has made quite a showing since January at many events where plenty of would-be donors have been present, though his people would argue it&#8217;s been to represent Texas in some way or the other. After sifting through his 200+ campaign finance reports released on Friday, KXAN found more than 20 such trips paid for under his statewide campaign &#8211; Texans For Rick Perry. And while he likely wouldn&#8217;t be able to use that money directly to pay for a presidential campaign since it stems from his run for governor, it&#8217;s a safe bet &#8211; like the attention he&#8217;s been garnering in recent weeks across the country &#8211; this money has been put to good use for any possibilities ahead.
