My Time Machine

Some senses are known for being more closely tied to your memory than others. I’ve heard smell is one of the strongest. For example, if I ever smell Elizabeth Arden Sunflowers, I’m immediately in the Actis Jr. High girls locker room. It’s a good thing that there’s not a ton of girls spritzing that on their pulse point anymore.I found a new time machine the other night. My DVR’s scheduled recordings menu. Here are the shows that I permanently deleted, some sadly, some more than happily.

• Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip
• Gilmore Girls
• I Want to be a Hilton
• Bedford Diaries
• Runaway
• Britney & Kevin: Chaotic
• Andy Baker, P.I.

I wish, oh how I wish, that I’d written them all down. That’s about half of the list and each of them whisks me off to a different time. Some of the deletes were harder to confirm than others. All those tough decisions, yet I couldn’t pull the trigger on Scott Baio is 45…and single.
